HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?

The basic treatment takes about a half hour from start to finish to do a single treatment, and about 45 minutes’ total time if you include the booster. That includes initial paperwork, pre-treatment prep, and post-treatment finishing and instructions. So, in less than an hour maximum, one can have a brighter smile.

HOW MUCH BRIGHTER WILL MY SMILE BE?

Everyone’s teeth are different. We all have different body chemistry, dental health, genetics, lifestyle habits, etc. Most people will experience a 3 to 8 shades whiter difference with a 20-minute treatment, and 2 to 4 shades more with a booster treatment. For best possible results we strongly recommend adding the booster or a second treatment.  Overall, over 98% of our customers are absolutely thrilled and ecstatic about their treatment results. The two words we hear the most from our customers when they look in the mirror after their treatment is “OH WOW!”

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Our prefilled tray teeth whitening system works by having a customer place a one-size-fits-all mouth tray in their mouth. The customer then bites down on the tray, and the L.E.D. light is shined on the tray, activating the whitening agent and accelerating the whitening process. We also use a ‘paint-on’ method for our customers that report having sensitive soft tissue.

Professional whitening is best performed with light technology. Light technology is referred to as photo-polymerization and was first approved by the FDA for teeth whitening in 1996. The BrighterWhite Accelerator light is an LED lamp that uses a cold blue light tuned to a wavelength of 480-500 nanometers. The light technology system works by accelerating the chemical reaction, rapidly speeding up the treatment time. During a treatment, the accelerator light is placed directly in front of the customer’s open mouth for 15-20 minutes. The Accelerator light uses the perfect wavelength of light and is designed to accelerate the whitening process of our teeth whitening gel.

IS TEETH WHITENING SAFE?

Yes, all our products are FDA compliant and research has proven that, if the customer’s teeth are in normal, healthy condition, there are no adverse side effects. BrighterWhite gels do not damage enamel and only affect the color of the dentin. However, individuals with tooth decay or other damage should avoid any teeth whitening treatments until they seek professional dental assistance and advice.

BrighterWhite technicians are not dentists and cannot diagnose oral or dental disorders. As a precaution, women who are pregnant, suspect that they may be pregnant, or breast feeding should not do teeth whitening without first consulting their doctor. Additionally, we recommend seeing a dentist first before whitening to those clients that haven’t been to a dentist in 2 or more years, have open unfilled cavities in their teeth, or who have untreated gum disease.

DOES THE TREATMENT CAUSE SENSITIVITY?

Some people may feel a slight tingling sensation or have minor discomfort during or after a teeth-whitening session. A few may have white spots, called blanching, on their gums as well. These effects are temporary and quickly dissipate within a few minutes or so. We use two preliminary treatments to prevent sensitivity and most people report no discomfort or sensitivity at all during or after their whitening treatment.

In the very unlikely event that a customer has sensitivity after the treatment, we recommend using Sensodyne toothpaste (repair and protect) on the affected tooth.  Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is helpful as well.

ARE THE RESULTS GUARANTEED?

Yes, BrighterWhite’s guarantee is the best in the business. We guarantee you will see a noticeable difference right away or there is no charge. To our knowledge, we are the only ones that offer this 100% guarantee.

WILL THE TREATMENT CAUSE ANY DAMAGE TO TEETH?

No, research has shown that whitening your teeth with peroxide-based gels does not harm the enamel of the teeth. This type of whitening has been done for over twenty years, even with stronger whitening gels than what we use, and no damage to enamel has occurred. All ingredients are FDA compliant.

HOW LONG WILL THE TREATMENT LAST?

One to two years is possible and depends greatly on the customer’s lifestyle, habits, and what they do to maintain their new smile. If one drinks a lot of coffee, tea, dark soda, or red wine, or especially if one smokes, the results will not last as long. These individuals may have to repeat the process more often. Using our whitening pen and whitening toothpaste on a regular basis will extend the results and keep your smile brighter longer. Most customers get their teeth whitened every 6 months to one year on average.

WILL THE TREATMENT WORK ON CROWNS, VENEERS, CAPS, BONDING, OR OTHER RESTORED TEETH?

Teeth whitening will not change any of the restored teeth’s inside color, however, it may slightly remove some outside stains. Several of our customers have reported seeing a little difference in their crowns, caps, etc. The procedure will not harm dental restorations. If one’s natural teeth are yellower than the restored teeth, then whitening will bring the natural teeth closer in shade to the restored teeth. Before getting teeth restored, most dentists will now recommend their clients get their teeth whitened first and then match the restoration to the whitened teeth.

HOW LONG BEFORE I CAN EAT OR DRINK AFTER THE TREATMENT?

We recommend for the first two hours after the treatment to have nothing other than water or something clear and non-acidic. For 24 hours afterwards we suggest staying away from any dark liquids and foods like coffee, tea, colas, blueberries, red wine, etc. and no smoking. If doing without these dark liquids would be overly challenging for you then we recommend at least using a straw to limit exposure to your teeth. Any substance that would stain a white shirt is to be avoided for 24 hours.

WHAT ABOUT SMALL WHITE SPOTS ON SOME OF MY TEETH?

It is normal that certain areas of a tooth that are decalcified will respond and whiten more rapidly than the surrounding tooth structure. The rest of the tooth eventually catches up with the spots and will become more uniform in color as one continues to whiten.

HOW DOES THE BRIGHTERWHITE ACCELERATOR LIGHT DIFFER FROM THE SMALLER HAND-HELD LIGHTS YOU SEE AT BIG BOX STORES?

The little light’s wavelength may be approximately the same, but the intensity of these small hand-held lights is much lower and therefore will not work as well or as fast. The light in this case is more of a gimmick than an actual aid to teeth whitening.

WHO MAY BENEFIT FROM THE BRIGHTERWHITE SYSTEM?

Almost everyone can enjoy the benefit to the whitening process if their teeth and gums are healthy. Remember, teeth cannot be bleached whiter then genetically possible. Tetracycline stains cannot be removed. Also any stains resulting from excessive fluorides or if the teeth are porous, one can expect little result. Excluding the above, about 99% of our clients experience successful results.
